The Livermore City Council on Sept. 8 approved an employment contract to appoint Kimberly Seeley as the city’s next city attorney.
Administrative Services Director Tina Olson summarized the recruitment process, which drew 17 applications and interviews for the top four candidates. Council selected Kimberly Seeley and the contract terms reported to the council included a Sept. 29 start date, an evergreen (no‑end‑date) contract, 12 months' severance pay except for cause, a base annual salary reported as $315,269, a per‑pay‑period deferred‑compensation contribution that Seeley will match, and an initial evaluation after six months at which Seeley would be eligible for a salary increase and an additional deferred compensation adjustment.
No public comment was offered on the item. Kimberly Seeley addressed the council and said she was "thrilled" to return and serve the city.
Council Member Barrientos moved to approve the contract; Vice Mayor Branning seconded the motion, and the council voted unanimously to adopt the contract and appoint Seeley. The council welcomed Seeley back to city service and thanked those involved in the recruitment process.
At the same meeting the council also approved the remainder of the consent calendar after pulling item 6.1 for separate handling and designated the vice mayor as the voting delegate to the League of California Cities General Assembly with named alternates.
