Superintendent reports student struck in crosswalk; district urges caution and announces revised fall break

Dr. Barnett also described a recent campus incident in which a student was struck while walking through a crosswalk. He said a bus had stopped and the student was struck by a vehicle as he crossed; the student returned to school and is recovering. “That young man is back at school, thank God, and he’s recovering well,” Dr. Barnett said. He urged the public, parents and drivers to pay attention during morning and afternoon pickup and drop-off times and thanked staff for their ongoing efforts to keep students safe.
