Addison accepts Pulte Home improvements at Driscoll Pond, assumes maintenance responsibility

The Village of Addison approved a resolution and agreement with Pulte Home Company LLC on Dec. 2, 2024, accepting completed improvements to the Driscoll Pond and making the village responsible for future maintenance.

Deputy Mayor Hundley introduced staff comments and Mark (staff presenter) said Pulte, as developer of the Highlands subdivision, performed required modifications and inspections to the pond as required by the development agreement. Staff reviewed an amended agreement confirming Pulte performed the required work, the village inspected and approved the work, and the village should now accept the improvements and assume responsibility for future maintenance, repairs and modifications to the pond and dam. The resolution and agreement were reviewed and approved by staff and the village attorney before the committee recommended approval. The committee then moved the resolution and the board approved it by roll call.

Board members voted in favor after staff and legal review; no public comment was recorded on the item during committee or board sessions. The agreement transfers ongoing maintenance obligations to the village after the developer completed construction and required inspections.

What happens next: Public works and relevant village staff will assume maintenance responsibilities per the executed agreement; documentation will be retained in the village records and any scheduled inspections or maintenance tasks will be assigned to the responsible department.
