Addison swears in two new officers and promotes a sergeant at year-end ceremony

Police Chief Roy Selvick introduced academy graduates Sebastian Mojavesky and William Enright and described the department’s hiring and background-review process. Village Clerk Lucille Zakaro administered the oath and the chief presented wallet badges and commission cards. Chief Selvick praised the department’s support from village leadership.
The board also swore in Mark Besch as sergeant. The chief summarized Besch’s career, including prior detective and task-force work, and lauded his investigative experience. Besch addressed the board briefly to thank mentors and colleagues.
Why it matters: swearing-in and promotion ceremonies fill department vacancies and establish leadership for patrol and investigations; trustees and the mayor publicly recognized the officers and department performance.
