Dave Young, president of Henderson Township Regional Seward District, told commissioners the township needs the county to serve as lead applicant for a construction grant to repair sewer infrastructure.
Young said the project is roughly $835,000 (he cited that figure as "roughly $835,000" and acknowledged he did not have the paperwork at the meeting). He added the township needs a 20% loan of $167,500 and is in the process of obtaining that financing. Young asked that the county sign off again to allow the township to submit the construction grant application; he said the township’s grant administrator (identified as Tia/Tina Henderson) would provide the necessary paperwork to the county auditor for review before final approval.
Commissioners agreed the administrator should send the documentation to the auditor and Maria (auditor) for review, and staff recommended returning the item to the next meeting if needed. Young said he could return with the full grant packet at the next meeting if required.
