The Rush County board opened with routine business, approving previous meeting minutes, several claims and payroll and recording motions on administrative items.
The board approved the June 2 meeting minutes after Speaker 1 moved and members voted “Aye.” It then approved accounts payable totaling $339,757.42, which the clerk read into the record and included line items such as a courthouse roof charge and several smaller claims. Payroll dated June 20 in the amount of $265,462.34 was presented and approved after a motion by Speaker 2 and a second.
Later in the session, the board authorized staff to advertise an open position in the clerk’s office after a motion and second. The board also recorded a motion to pay certain utility bills for a recently purchased county building out of a capital account referred to in the record as “King Capital.” A separate motion to sign annual coverage/bridge certification documents was also made and carried.
No formal vote counts by member name were listed on the record; actions were entered as motions with recorded seconds and affirmative “Aye” responses from the members present.
