Independent auditors give District 211 a clean opinion on 2023-24 finances

Township High School District 211's independent auditors, Baker Tilly US LLP, presented the districtannual comprehensive financial report (ACFR) for the year ending June 30, 2024, and issued an unmodified (clean) opinion.
Sebastian Dabrowski, senior audit supervisor with Baker Tilly, briefed the board on the audit results: no internal control recommendations were identified, no findings were reported in the uniform guidance (single-audit) testing of federal programs (including ESSER and IDEA clusters), and the district received "recognition" status on the state's financial profile and the maximum points on the financial profile score. Dabrowski described the opinion as an unmodified/unqualified opinion, the highest level of assurance auditors provide.
Dabrowski thanked the business office staff (named in the report) for preparing the ACFR and noted the district prepares its own ACFR, an uncommon practice among districts Baker Tilly audits. He also described components of the reports (managementdiscussion and analysis, budget-to-actual schedules, and 10-year trend data) and said the firm is available for further questions.
Board members thanked the business office for its work and received the reports by motion and roll call.
What happens next: the ACFR will be filed and the popular annual financial report (PAFR) will be used for broader community transparency. The auditors indicated their availability for questions and the district said it would continue to monitor compliance and financial reporting.
