Committee approves annexation of 1681 Bilta Road to Aurora to accommodate road widening and city water
Summary
The Building, Zoning and Economic Development Committee unanimously approved an ordinance to annex property at 1681 Bilta (also transcribed as Bilter/Filter) Road into the City of Aurora to allow a road expansion and to place the property on city water because the owner's well lies within the planned right-of-way.

The Building, Zoning and Economic Development Committee voted unanimously to approve an ordinance to annex property at 1681 Bilta Road into the City of Aurora.
City planner Peter Basic told the committee the parcel is currently in an unincorporated county farming district and is part of negotiations related to a planned road expansion along Bilta/Bilter/Filter Road. Basic said the owner's well is within the planned right-of-way and annexation would allow the city to provide water service so the owner does not pay for two separate water systems.
Alderman Franco made the motion to approve the ordinance and Alderman Seville seconded. A committee member asked staff to upload the accompanying map to Legistar; staff acknowledged the map had not yet been posted. The motion carried 3-0.
The annexation was described to the committee as a technical step tied to right-of-way acquisition and utility service; no additional land-use changes or conditions were described at the meeting.
