During the public-comment portion of the Sept. 16 meeting, a resident identified as Mister Mann (speaker 5) of Denver, Georgia urged the commission to remove agricultural trailers from the wheel tax, arguing that trailers used infrequently should not be taxed like regularly used vehicles. He said: "It's not fair. We have to put tires on them all the time, use them once a year... and have to pay just like a vehicle that's traveling the road 24/7."
Mann also asked whether the county had checked runoff from the Nob Hill development into Georgetown Creek, suggesting that increased paving and landscaping might have changed runoff patterns. The chair replied the county had not personally tested the creek and suggested referring the question to stormwater staff or to Chris (staff) to determine whether testing had been performed and to follow up.
