Stiller described the recommendation as focusing on prevention, saying JRAC chose the 'prevention prong' and specifically 'tier 1 prevention' for the state matching funds. She said this approach aimed to use restricted opioid funds matched by the state to support prevention work distinct from the county's prior emphasis on treatment and criminal justice partnerships. Maribeth Anne Adams Wolf of Our Place was present to explain the proposal if commissioners had questions; none were raised.
The board moved, seconded and approved JRAC's recommendation. Stiller asked that the JRAC annual report and the restricted funds update be posted on the JRAC page of the county website for public transparency.
