Commissioners sign order terminating Komatsu Architecture contract and approve outstanding invoice

During the Sept. 22 meeting the court reviewed Komatsu's monthly invoice and Commissioner Palmer moved to approve payment; Commissioner McGowan seconded and the motion passed by voice vote. The court then considered an order terminating Komatsu's contract for services related to the annex, jail and other auxiliary buildings after courthouse completion. Commissioner McGowan made the motion to sign the termination order; Commissioner Windham seconded and the motion carried by voice vote.
County staff said the termination follows legal consultation; commissioners did not list additional contractual conditions or pending claims in the meeting discussion. Administrative staff will complete any follow-up steps to finalize the termination and ensure project continuity for the remaining auxiliary projects.
