Ordinance: residential property maintenance (Item 10) Item 10 amends City of Weston Code section 95.01 (residential property maintenance) on second and final reading. The commission opened the public hearing; there were no public speakers. Commissioner Melina McPhee moved the ordinance, Commissioner Andrade seconded, and the commission adopted the ordinance on a unanimous roll-call vote.
Ordinance: tree preservation and historical tree definition (Item 11) Item 11 amends definitions and parts of chapter 122 (tree preservation) to conform to state law and Broward County code and adds a definition of "historical tree." Commissioner Molina McPhee called attention to language in section 123.16(b) regarding a city-approved tree list and staff said they would work on implementation details and a possible appeal process for planting decisions. The ordinance passed unanimously on second/final reading.
Development-district levies and tentative budgets (Items 12–16) Items 12 and 13 are resolutions levying non ad valorem assessments for Indian Trace Basin 1 and Basin 2 for fiscal year 2026; Items 14 and 16 approve tentative budgets for the Indian Trace and Bonaventure Development Districts (fiscal year 2026, Oct. 1, 2025'Sept. 30, 2026). The commission held the public hearings with no speakers and approved the resolutions and tentative budgets by unanimous roll call. Public hearings to adopt the final district budgets were scheduled for Monday, Sept. 29, 2025, at 7:00 p.m.
Fees schedule (Item 17) Item 17 revised and restated the city's schedule of fees for services. The commission moved, seconded and approved the fee schedule on a unanimous roll-call vote.
Outcome and next steps All items (10 through 17) were adopted or approved as motions moved and seconded on the agenda. Where staff said further implementation rules or appeals processes may be needed (for example, tree selection procedures under 123.16(b)), staff committed to return with additional information for commission consideration. The meeting adjourned with a brief recognition of Chief Drazen.
