Tustin council adopts updated fee schedule; change takes effect Sept. 1

Councilmember Fink described the change as an "inflation index adjustment" and said it is part of a larger forthcoming fee study. After a motion and a second, the council adopted the resolution by roll-call vote. Councilmembers Fink, Snell and Gallagher voted "Aye." Mayor Pro Tem Nielsen registered the lone dissent. The clerk read the roll call and announced the motion passed with a 3-1 vote.
The item was taken under City Council Resolution No. 2154, which directs the finance director to annually review and recommend fee adjustments. The council recorded no amendments to the proposal; staff indicated the adjustments are intended to reflect routine inflation and that a more detailed study may come later.
The adopted fee adjustments will be implemented on Sept. 1, 2025; councilmembers said the change is intended to align fees with the cost of services and to preserve equitable application across users.
