TUSTIN, Calif. — The Tustin City Council voted 5–0 on May 6 to approve a second amendment to the County of Orange waste disposal agreement, amid councilmember commentary about countywide tipping fee discussions.
Council Member Fink, who serves on the Orange County Waste Management Commission, told the council there was "a huge turnout" at the recent commission meeting about tipping fees and the contract extension and said cities are working with the county to seek reasonable fees. Fink noted this matter is part of longer‑term county work expected to continue next year.
City staff presented the item as a staff recommendation; the council moved, seconded and adopted the amendment without further changes. The motion passed 5–0.
Council members did not request additional conditions or refer the item to other committees at the meeting.
