Tustin Public Schools Foundation says Dino Dash raised $425,000 to fund classroom grants

Kate Kirsten, president of the Tustin Public Schools Foundation, joined by interim executive director Kristen Simpkins, thanked the Tustin City Council for its partnership and reported results from the 2024 Dino Dash fundraiser.
Kirsten told the council the event—organized by TPSF—drew a large number of participants and raised more than $425,000 to benefit all schools in Tustin Unified School District. “The funds raised from the DynoDash go directly into classrooms, providing resources to enhance student learning,” she said.
Kirsten and Simpkins said the grants committee was reviewing submissions from across the district and that awards would be distributed over the coming months. As a token of appreciation, TPSF presented the council with a handcrafted dinosaur-sponsor trophy made by a TUSD student.
Council members thanked TPSF for the fundraising and city staff support. No fiscal action or city appropriation was proposed during the presentation; the report was informational and intended to inform the community about local philanthropic support for TUSD classrooms.
