Cerritos council appoints Grace Fu to Economic Development Commission

The Cerritos City Council unanimously approved the nomination of Grace Fu to the Economic Development Commission (EDC) during its Aug. 14, 2025 meeting.
City Clerk Cindy Nava told the council there are three vacancies on the EDC with meetings to begin Sept. 9. Councilmember Jennifer Hong nominated Grace Fu; the nomination was seconded and the council voted 5–0 to appoint Fu. The city clerk administered the oath of office; Fu stated she looks forward to using her 48 years in development and construction experience to serve the city.
What happens next: The newly appointed commissioner will be seated in time for the EDC’s first meetings and will serve the two‑year term subject to the city charter’s rules for advisory boards.
