Hood County approves interlocal inmate agreement and several routine items; grants credits from Tyler settlement

Interlocal inmate housing: Sheriff Deeds reported Erath County will provide housing and care for Hood County inmates at a rate of $100 per inmate per day. Commissioner Samuelson moved and Commissioner Andrews seconded approval of an interlocal cooperation agreement with Erath County; the motion carried 5‑0.
Tyler Technologies credit: The court authorized the county judge to sign a second amendment with Tyler Technologies to discontinue an Executive Time and Attendance software module, which will return a credit of $60,639.50 to Hood County. County staff said total credits identified and received from Tyler since April 2024 will total $115,332.50.
HVAC funding: Facilities Director Leland Lawrence requested $75,000 to replenish an emergency fund for repair and replacement of failing HVAC units in county buildings. Commissioners approved allocating $75,000 from fund 55 by unanimous vote.
Other routine business: The court approved waiving the 2025 payment in lieu of taxes for the Granbury Housing Authority, retained Anco Insurance as the county’s insurance agent for the 2025–26 benefit year, set a March 25 public hearing for several replats and approved the final plat of Sterling Addition (lots 1–5). Auditor Stephanie Matlock presented bills totaling $5,027,115.99, including final Justice Center and tax note payments; the court approved payment as presented and adjourned.
