After closed-session discussion May 20, staff reported the City Council approved a motion, 5‑0, to appoint Jennifer Lampman as the city's next city administrator. The closed-session report stated: "The council has agreed to appoint Jennifer Lampman, who currently serves as the deputy city administrator and finance director, as the city's next city administrator." The appointment will take effect once the council formally approves a contract at a subsequent meeting.
City staff also reported the council held extensive discussion on labor negotiations during closed session but offered no further public detail about those negotiations. Council members publicly congratulated Lampman during the meeting and the mayor welcomed her into the role in comments during open session.
No contract terms were disclosed in open session. Staff told the council the appointment will be finalized once a contract is prepared and brought back for approval at a future meeting, at which time the council will take any formal vote in public.
