Rancho Family Fest organizers recognized; Chamber presents donation to fallen firefighters

The Rancho Santa Margarita City Council on Wednesday recognized the Rancho Family Fest committee and the Rancho Santa Margarita Chamber of Commerce for organizing the city—s two‑day festival, which drew thousands, showcased local businesses and included headline bands. The council publicly thanked volunteers and sponsors for staging the event.
Chamber president Sean Autry reviewed 2024 highlights and described 2025 plans including a Feb. 6 business mixer, a Feb. 27 business education workshop on AI and digital marketing, and a May legislative update featuring invited state and federal representatives. Autry thanked volunteers and sponsors and announced ribbon‑cutting events and business outreach.
The council also accepted a community donation from the Chamber and Rancho Family Fest committee to the Orange County Professional Firefighters Association Local 631 Fallen Firefighter Relief Fund. Josh Bastian and Chamber representatives described a fund drive at Rancho Family Fest and tip collections that raised money for eight firefighters who were injured responding to the September airport fire and a related rollover accident. Matt Carlson, speaking for the firefighters, thanked the city and donors and explained the fund—s history and purpose in assisting families and members in need.
