The Rancho Santa Margarita City Council unanimously adopted a resolution consolidating all administrative citation fines and late fees into a single, user-friendly schedule.
Staff member Ms. Kuda described the item as a housekeeping measure that collects existing citation amounts—created over time through ordinances and resolutions—into one place in the municipal code. "No fees are being changed," Kuda told the council; the purpose, she said, is to make it easier to find applicable citation amounts and ensure consistent application.
Council member moved and a second was provided; the resolution passed on a unanimous vote. Earlier in the meeting the council also approved the consent calendar and separately approved the pulled warrant-register item (item 5.4) after public comment.
The resolution consolidates references scattered across the municipal code and does not alter substantive fine amounts, according to staff. The council did not direct additional study or modifications during the meeting.
