The Pataki Center for the Arts reported a substantial rebound and growth in programs to the Mission Viejo City Council on March 11.
Genesis Hansen, speaking for the center, said class and camp revenues rose sharply after the facility reopened, estimating a roughly 300% revenue increase over the past three years and projecting about $160,000 in revenue for the current fiscal year. The center expanded hours (adding two evenings per week), reconfigured furniture to increase usable classroom space, introduced adjustable-height tables to better accommodate people with disabilities and built an outdoor classroom and patio space.
Hansen credited a larger stable of instructors (growing from roughly 5—6 to about 20) and a doubling of class offerings and attendance in the past two years. She said cancellations are now rare and staff continue to recruit instructors and hire supervisory roles to support continued growth.
Councilmembers praised the programs growth and encouraged residents to take advantage of classes. Hansen said class schedules are published in the MV Life publication and on the citys website.
