Friends of the Library present $23,000 check to Orange Public Library Foundation

The Friends of the Library (Friends) presented a $23,000 donation to the Orange Public Library Foundation; city and library officials thanked donors and said additional support may follow.
City staff and trustees accepted a $23,000 donation from the Friends of the Library at the April 8 council meeting. Treasurer Peter Wetzel and Community Library Services Director Leslie Hardy received the check and thanked the Friends and other donors. Staff noted additional funds may be forthcoming and expressed appreciation for community support of library services.
The Friends' representative said the organization and allied groups support library services through fundraising and volunteer efforts. Council and staff encouraged continued engagement and partnership with the foundation and remarked on the critical role of library programming.
