Councilmembers noted SCAG is a large regional planning body covering six counties and that Mission Viejo's participation matters for regional transportation and land-use decisions.
Council discussion emphasized the practical value of outside technical support for local elected officials and staff. The motion to approve the contract carried unanimously.
