The vendor said one technology can deliver gigabit line‑of‑sight service and another can provide up to 500 Mbps non‑line‑of‑sight. "We can actually shoot it through the clock faces or even up where the pillars are," the presenter said, noting existing legacy equipment could be cleared.
Board members expressed interest but emphasized historic preservation review and technical site visits before any installation. The chair said the county will coordinate with the historic society and asked the vendor to meet with county IT staff and building contacts for equipment specifications and pricing.
No contract or commitment to service was made at the meeting; the board authorized staff to host site visits and receive equipment proposals for consideration.
