"If auditor Kaczynski is allowed to stay on until July 4, she will cost the taxpayers of Madison County over $13,000 in salary," Brenner said, urging the board to receive and file her comments.
Michelle Grant of Earlham raised separate concerns about meeting minutes and public transparency, saying minutes no longer record the towns speakers represent and urging restoration of that detail to maintain accountability. She also asked about plans for posting the auditor vacancy and an update on the treasurer hearing scheduled for July 17.
Board members moved to receive and file public comments. The meeting record shows the board accepted the comments without taking immediate disciplinary or personnel action at the session; no board motion to change the auditor's effective resignation date was recorded.
