TUSD board approves staff-appreciation resolution and induction MOU; consent calendar and personnel items pass

The Tustin Unified School District Board of Education moved through a set of formal agenda items Tuesday, reporting a closed-session personnel resignation and approving a staff-appreciation resolution and a memorandum of understanding on induction reimbursements.
At the start of the meeting, the board reported that in closed session it had accepted the resignation of employee #20242518, effective March 13, 2025. The action was moved by Lynn Davis, seconded by Jonathan Abelov, and carried in a 5–0 vote.
Under discussion and action items, the board considered Resolution No. 41025 recognizing Staff Appreciation Week (May 2025) and acknowledging more than 2,500 district employees across certificated, classified, confidential and management positions. The resolution was read into the record and approved unanimously.
The board next approved a memorandum of understanding between the Tustin Educators Association and TUSD to reimburse half the cost of induction for affected teachers, not to exceed $1,800 per year per impacted teacher, applied to TUSD induction candidates who were TUSD employees and enrolled in the program during the 24–25 school year. The motion was moved and seconded on the record and passed 5–0.
The consent calendar was then approved as drafted, followed by a pupil personnel item (SN 20242513) that also passed after motion and second. Board members offered no substantive amendments to the items and expressed appreciation for staff work during the meeting.
The board concluded with member comments and adjourned. No ordinances or budget adoptions were taken at this meeting.
