At its meeting the Madison County Board of Supervisors approved several routine administrative items included on the packet.
The board amended a housekeeping resolution to add the current auditor to bank signing authorization (resolution 080525a) to allow the auditor to sign and endorse checks; the motion passed by voice vote. The board also approved a contract engagement for the auditor, treasurer and engineer offices to hire 'Solutions' to help clear month-end accounting problems caused by past administrations and to prepare year-end reconciliations. The chair explained the work will address prorate and payroll issues dating to 2024.
The board approved one-time software purchases (FastStone and Acrobat Pro, including an 'AI' add-on as transcribed) to enable document annotation and PDF editing in the auditor’s office; the chair said the purchases were a one-time charge rather than a subscription. The board then approved an amended MOU related to the opioid settlement (covered in a separate article).
Each of these items was approved by motion and voice vote; where a specific dollar figure or cost breakdown was not provided in the packet or on the floor, the chair and staff said they would supply details as needed for contract execution.
