TUSD board adopts flooring procurement resolution, approves consent calendar and personnel items

At the May 12 meeting, the Tustin Unified School District board approved a facilities procurement and several routine consent and personnel items.

The board considered Resolution No. O5-14-25, "authorizing the purchase and warranty of flooring materials from Shaw Integrated Solutions using the California multiple award schedule contract." Speaker 2 moved to adopt the resolution "with all the conditions stated in the recommendation," a second was offered, and the board voted to approve the resolution unanimously; the meeting record states, "Carries 5 0." The motion language recorded at the meeting was, "I move that we adopt resolution number O5Dash14Dash25 with all the conditions stated in the recommendation."

Immediately afterward the board moved to adopt the consent calendar in its entirety; that motion was seconded and approved unanimously. The meeting then addressed personnel items under "people personnel," including student-stipulated suspended expulsions and other listed student items (identified in the record as SN 20242515, SN 20242516, SN 20242517, SN 20242518). Motions to approve those personnel items were made and seconded and recorded as approved. A board member later asked to be recorded as abstaining on item '17, producing a 4-0 vote with one abstention for that item.

The board did not provide additional substantive discussion on the procurement during the meeting. No dollar amounts or contract terms beyond vendor name and procurement vehicle (California Multiple Award Schedule) were included in the public discussion.
