At its meeting the Tustin Unified School District board moved through several procedural items and approved multiple motions by voice vote.
The board received initial proposals in bargaining with the Classified Supervisory Management Association (CSMA) and also received the district's initial proposal to CSMA. The board approved a memorandum of understanding with the Tustin Educators Association concerning elected union officer release time. Board policy and administrative regulation 3517 (facilities inspection policy) and 13.12.3 (uniform complaint procedures) were adopted, and a section of policy 51.45.3 on nondiscrimination/harassment (section g) was approved while sections h and i were tabled for future consideration.
Personnel actions approved included a new title, job description and salary placement for a "Manager, Occupational Therapist" and a new title and salary placement for "Director, Information Services." The consent calendar was adopted as posted, and the board approved a stipulated suspended expulsion (SN 2024-25-23) for placement at Orchard Hills Middle School.
Most motions were made, seconded and carried by voice vote without extended discussion. Where votes were recorded, the chair called for "Aye" and declared the motion carried; the meeting transcript does not list individual roll-call tallies for these items. No amendments to the approved policies or personnel items were recorded during the meeting.
Next steps: Items tabled (policy sections h and i) will return for future meetings and the district will proceed with bargaining discussions based on the received initial proposals.
