Superintendent highlights AI training, Dignity Index and mandatory e‑vehicle safety sessions

Cassie said AI workshops were differentiated by grade level, cited high participation and satisfaction figures during the sessions, and described an online library of prompt templates and resources for staff. She told trustees that district leaders and teachers are exploring AI to streamline tasks and differentiate instruction while safeguarding core learning goals.
On student safety, the superintendent announced mandatory e‑vehicle safety and registration sessions in partnership with the Irvine Police Department. Middle and high school students who ride e‑vehicles to and from school must attend one of the IPD presentations to receive a permit; students are not allowed on campus without a permit. Sessions begin Aug. 28 with additional dates in September, and families are directed to iusd.org and the August edition of IUSD Insights for details.
Cassie also noted the district’s partnership with colleges and employers and praised staff for organizing the professional learning day; she said about 100 people attended the advance and cited session satisfaction percentages during the presentation.
