The Anaheim Elementary School District Board on Sept. 10 approved tentative agreements with multiple bargaining units and approved pay adjustments for district staff and administrators.
Board members voted to ratify a tentative agreement with the Anaheim Elementary Education Association (AEEA) that includes a 2% increase to the 2024–25 base salary retroactive to July 1, 2025, a 0.54% ongoing increase to the health-and-welfare cap and a one-time provision to maintain employee monthly contributions at the prior year level. “The across-the-board ongoing increase to our salary is very much needed given the increased cost of living our members are experiencing,” AEEA representative Cindy Timote said.
The board also approved a 2% increase for California School Employees Association (CSEA) members and for the Anaheim Elementary School Management Association (ASMA), along with related Memoranda of Understanding for classification changes and work‑year adjustments. AB 1200 analyses presented at the meeting indicated the district is financially able to support the agreements.
Trustees additionally approved a 2% increase for provisional salary schedule classifications and a modest increase in the monthly stipend for board members from $494 to $504 (retroactive to July 1, 2025). The board approved 2% salary increases and health-and-welfare adjustments for the superintendent and assistant superintendents with oral summaries provided under Government Code section 54953(c)(3).
All labor-related motions carried unanimously. Pay-date schedules differ for CalSTRS and CalPERS members as reflected in staff presentations.
What’s next: Staff will process retroactive pay according to the pay-date schedule discussed (CalSTRS/CalPERS timelines) and continue implementation work with payroll and bargaining-unit representatives.
