The Irvine Unified School District board on Aug. 26 approved staff’s recommendation in student-discipline case 02H-2526 but suspended the expulsion to allow the student to continue enrollment at University High while educational assessments are completed.
The chair moved the staff recommendation and the motion was seconded and carried by voice vote. Under the approved motion the expulsion is suspended during the assessment process; after assessments are complete the student is to transfer to ACCESS for the remainder of the first semester of the 2025–26 school year, as described in the staff recommendation.
