Board honors BOHS boys volleyball and holds tributes for long‑time staff and a student

The Brea Olinda Unified School District Board opened its July 24 meeting by recognizing the Brea Olinda High School boys volleyball team for a standout season that included a deep CIF playoff run.
Team captain Caden Vasquez addressed the board to thank coaches and teammates and described the season’s turnaround that took the team to state‑level competition. Trustees praised the players and coaches for bringing energy and school spirit.
Later in the meeting the board held remembrances for three community members: Pam Brambila, recognized for 25 years of service in district roles including paraprofessional and administrative positions at Breyer Junior High; Rick Jones, a former custodian turned longtime teacher and coach at Brea Olinda High School who served for nearly three decades; and Anthony "AJ" Dilatori, a student who died July 15, 2025 after a battle with a rare brain cancer. The board observed a moment of silence for the three individuals.
