The Fullerton Joint Union High School District Board approved contract amendments for Superintendent Dr. Stephen McLaughlin and several assistant superintendents after reading the oral summary required under Government Code section 54953 subdivision (c)(3).
President Calhoun read required public disclosures describing the proposed superintendent amendment (term from July 1, 2025 through July 30, 2029), adjustments to the superintendent base salary tied to certificated bargaining unit implementation dates, specified percentage salary increases and year-end off-schedule payments, a maximum annual vacation accrual, and a district contribution to a tax-sheltered annuity plan.
The board then moved and voted to approve the amendment to the superintendent’s contract. The board separately considered and approved amendment items for assistant superintendents (administrative services, business services, education assessment services, and human resources) with the cabinet salary schedule to be amended and posted online.
President Calhoun confirmed the district complied with the legal requirement to provide an oral summary before the vote. Several votes were recorded by voice and tallied as favorable (recorded as 5–0 on multiple items).
