Board approves expulsions, ratifies teachers' tentative agreement and passes routine consent items

At its regular meeting, the Fullerton Joint Union High School District Board of Trustees recorded several formal actions.

Expulsions: The board reported it had returned from closed session and moved to approve findings and recommendations in a confidential pupil expulsion case for the 202426ndash;25 school year (case referenced in closed session). The motion to approve expulsions was "moved by Joanne, seconded by Chester" and passed 4-0.

Minutes and consent items: Trustees approved the minutes and the consent calendar without pull items; both motions passed unanimously (4-0).

Teachers' contract ratification: Assistant Superintendent Ed Atkinson presented a tentative three-year collective bargaining agreement between the Fullerton Secondary Teachers Organization (FSTO) and the district covering 202526ndash;28 and recommended ratification and authorization for the superintendent to execute required documents. The board voted to ratify the tentative agreement 4-0.

Salary schedule updates: The board approved updated salary schedules for confidential supervisory and management employees aligned with the tentative agreements. Business staff certified that the agreement cost can be met during its term and the Orange County Department of Education reviewed the AB 1200 disclosure form and confirmed fiscal capacity.
