The gas incident also required coordination with site staff at a busy dismissal time and temporary changes to traffic and site operations.
Rick said the district is scheduling extensive summer maintenance (painting, flooring, blacktop, roof work) and continues DSA closeouts for older projects dating back to the 1990s. He also mentioned the district will use some Prop 28 funding to start a Pacific Symphony partnership and other enrichment activities at Mariposa.
The board asked for a prioritized facility list for the high school that flags projects requiring DSA involvement versus those that can proceed with district maintenance funds; trustees also requested pricing comparisons for gym cooling options (industrial fans versus air conditioning units) to inform a high‑school priority plan.
No action was taken at the meeting; staff will report back with timelines and prioritization.
