Fullerton Joint Union HSD adopts LCAP after public hearing and edits

The Fullerton Joint Union High School District Board of Trustees voted to approve and adopt the district’s Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) following a presentation and public hearing. Assistant Superintendent of Education Sylvia Coffin said the LCAP was revised after community feedback and a review by the Orange County Department of Education, and that no district schools were identified as needing comprehensive school improvement (CSI).
Coffin explained the LCAP process and the district’s revisions, including language clarifications and additional suspension data. “It is recommended that the Local Control Accountability Plan … be approved and adopted and that the superintendent or designee be authorized to execute the necessary documents,” Coffin told the board.
Coffin said no structural or budget changes were recommended to the plan after the revisions. The board moved to adopt the LCAP and approved it by voice vote, recorded as 5–0.
The LCAP frames how the district aligns state funding under the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) to state priorities and stakeholder input. The board authorized the superintendent or designee to finalize and execute required documents tied to the adoption.
