Assembly approves fleet fuel‑card contract with Boyett Petroleum

The Fairbanks North Star Borough Assembly Finance Committee approved RFP 26007, awarding the borough fleet fuel‑card contract to Stan Boyett and Sons Inc., doing business as Boyett Petroleum.
Staff described the contract as a service to provide fuel cards that remain with borough fleet vehicles, permit PIN-based tracking of users and yield a per-gallon rebate. “They go in the fleet vehicles... the dollar amount is essentially what we're spending on the fuel each year,” staff explained, and recommended acceptance of the highest ranked responsive proposer.
Staff said this RFP produced only one responsive proposal; the borough has used the same contractor for more than 10 years. Ms. Wilson asked whether the contract purchases fuel directly; staff clarified the vendor supplies and manages the card system rather than selling fuel to the borough.
Mr. Leginas moved to award RFP 26007 and Ms. O'Neil seconded. The assembly recorded affirmative roll-call votes from present members and the chair announced RFP 26007 is awarded. The contract term described in committee was $256,200 for the initial year and a total of $1,281,000 if four one-year renewals are exercised.
