Commission approves $99,900 amendment to JJC architectural services

Minnehaha County commissioners approved Amendment 1 to the architectural services agreement for the Juvenile Justice Center, adding work for shell space and an underground stormwater detention system at a contract amendment price of $99,900.
Tom Greco, Commission Administrative Officer, said the amendment covers architectural services associated with the addition of shell space and installation of an underground stormwater detention system. "Both of those items, in total for the architectural services would amount to $99,900 that's the contract amendment price," Greco said. He noted the Juvenile Justice Center project came in under budget and that the amendment does not increase the overall project price.
Greco said the project's original budget was higher and that favorable bidding led to a reduced overall project cost; he said commissioners would see another construction change order for the shell-space work in the coming weeks. Commissioners voiced support and approved the amendment by motion and roll call.
The amendment was approved and staff indicated further change orders for construction work will be brought forward as needed.
