Supervisors Approve Routine Permits, Review Urban Renewal and Highway Updates

Franklin County supervisors approved a set of routine permits and heard department updates on urban renewal and road maintenance.
The board approved an application from Dennis Peterson to clean a ditch on 18th Street between Quail and Raven and approved a permit for Plegy Farms Inc. to find and connect to drainage-district tile in Hamilton Township; both motions were moved, seconded and approved by voice vote.
Speaker 1 presented the fiscal year 2025 urban renewal report and said the county's new co-op rebate had largely run its course; staff reported $12,067 remained in that fund as they consult TIF counsel about reallocation to taxing entities. "So there is $12,067 remaining in that fund," Speaker 1 said.
Highway staff provided operational updates including the temporary closure and detour of C-13 while crews set a detour, work on culverts, increased gravel mowing frequency to three times this year, grader procurement and ongoing truck DEF-system repairs. Staff said a tile reroute near Indigo was planned to begin soon.
The board also, acting as drainage trustees, approved drainage meeting minutes by motion. The meeting proceeded to further agenda items and adjourned at 09:36 a.m.
