Commission endorses staff recommendations on Buckskin Drive stop‑control and parking restrictions

Hartzog & Crable’s sight‑distance review found parked cars reduced visibility at Buckskin Drive and Broken Bit Lane; staff recommended on‑street parking restrictions on the south side of Buckskin west of Broken Bit to restore sight lines, and stop marking/limit line installation for the minor northbound approach at Bridal Bit Lane to better assign right‑of‑way.
The consultant’s volume and collision review showed neither intersection met the manual of uniform traffic control devices’ multi‑way stop warrants, and there were no reported collisions in the five‑year review period. Commissioners recognized the sight‑distance issue caused by parked vehicles and approved staff’s recommendations. Staff noted any one‑way stop control approved by the commission will require City Council approval before changes take effect.
