During public comment on Feb. 5, a resident identified as Stolarisky described daily walking routes near Aliso Hills and asked the city to consider traffic calming measures — including a stop sign or an additional crosswalk — at La Ciénaga and Aliso Hills. The resident cited two accidents in the past year and said drivers pick up speed on the hill.
Commissioners thanked the resident and Deputy City Manager Reynolds said the correct operational path is for Public Works to review the resident’s request. Reynolds asked the resident to provide contact information and indicated Public Works staff will determine whether the matter should be routed to the Traffic Commission for formal study or hearing; staff will notify the resident of next steps.
No formal action was taken by the commission; staff follow‑up with Public Works was the stated next step.
