Local instructor pitches US Junior Pickleball Foundation to Laguna Hills commission

Seber described a growth model similar to established youth sports programs and said he already works with schools and after‑school programs in Huntington Beach and Mission Viejo. “I have a foundation, the US Junior Pickleball Foundation,” he said, and offered to help develop courts or programming “at no cost to the city” where feasible.
Commissioners and staff discussed the city’s current temporary pickleball setup and availability. Staff noted temporary nets at the community center on Monday and Thursday nights from 6–9 p.m., and that Saturdays were not currently scheduled. Deputy City Manager Reynolds and other staff explained options for a community partner — including facility use permits, contract‑instructor arrangements and rental agreements — and directed Seber to contact Community Services Manager Holly Gannon to discuss fit and scheduling.
Next steps: staff advised Seber to pursue a facility use permit or contract‑instructor arrangement and for the commission to refer scheduling and permit questions to the Community Services office.
