Laguna Hills City Council reviewed its annual list of appointments to outside boards and committees and took several personnel actions on the record.
Councilmember Mathis was appointed to the Events, Communications and Beautification Committee (ECBC) after discussion and a recorded vote; the council noted potential overlap between ECBC work and Mathis' museum involvement and agreed conflicts would be handled case-by-case and disclosed if necessary.
Councilman Wheeler was reappointed as the city's representative to the Orange County Public Library Advisory Board and will continue in that role. For the Transportation Corridor Agencies (TCA) seat, the council followed protocol to move the alternate into the primary position and appointed a new alternate (Councilmember Mathis) as recorded in the meeting.
Separately, the council voted to dissolve the ad hoc solid-waste committee. Several appointments were handled individually by motion and vote; staff will update required public disclosure forms (FPPC form referenced on the record) as necessary.
Votes on these appointments and the ad hoc dissolution were recorded on the council floor.
