Brandon, a Hyundai Motor America representative, announced that Hyundai will donate $100,000 to the Fountain Valley Community Foundation to support local programs, events and businesses. City officials presented a certificate recognizing Hyundai’s 35-plus years of operations in Fountain Valley.
The company’s local representatives described Hyundai as title sponsor of major city events, including Summerfest fireworks, the annual tree-lighting (with a snow attraction), concerts in the park and the Easter egg hunt. City staff and council members cited prior Hyundai grants to the Fountain Valley Schools Foundation, Little League projects and other nonprofits. Christina Smith (senior management analyst) and council members thanked Hyundai for long-running in-kind and cash support.
City officials also noted a previously announced $25,000 grant from Hyundai to the Fountain Valley Community Foundation through the city’s community grants program. Council members and nonprofit representatives said the gifts help fund scholarships, field and facility improvements and event programming.
The presentation concluded with photographs and brief remarks from Hyundai representatives and city leaders. No formal council action was required beyond the recognition and public thanks.
