Aliso Viejo issues proclamation for Wildfire Awareness and Prevention Season; OCFA urges Ready, Set, Go

Fire Division Chief Mike Summers accepted the proclamation on behalf of the Orange County Fire Authority and described regional wildfire drivers—persistent drought, warmer temperatures and severe winds—citing recent incidents including the Eaton and Palisades fires. He urged residents to participate in the Ready, Set, Go program: "Ready" means preparing homes by clearing vegetation and combustible materials; "Set" means assembling a disaster kit and knowing how to respond as a wildfire approaches; and "Go" means having an evacuation plan and knowing when to leave.
