Yankton County commissioners approved a set of routine items at their June 17 meeting.
After receiving a request from Jim Leipsch, the board voted to approve the county’s annual mosquito abatement contracts, a recurring public-health measure. The board also approved two homestead plats presented by the planning director: the Plat of Tract 1 (M & T Munngolt Addition) and a plat of Parcel A in Schmidt's Fourth Addition. County minutes from the prior meeting and the claims list were approved on voice votes.
During public comment, resident Bob Blight praised the Mitchell EMS presentation and urged improved county communications. Later in the meeting commissioners moved into an executive session for personnel and contract discussions; they returned to open session and stated there was no action taken in executive session. Commissioners confirmed IT vendor selection and a road-resolution as items on the July 1 agenda and adjourned the meeting.
