The board considered and approved multiple routine personnel and business items during the meeting. Personnel actions included resignations, recalls and appointments: Evan Jenkins was named an E&L teacher split between Tay's Hill and the junior–senior high school; several staff (Nicole Cahill, Rebecca Magdano Campbell and others) were recalled from layoff to fill positions; and extracurricular advisor appointments were listed.
In the business office presentation, district staff explained a $7,800,000 Ulster BOCES line that covers BOCES services (special education, software licenses, interscholastic sports and other items). Staff cautioned that the gross figure includes many components and is partially reimbursable (they stated typical reimbursement in the 40–45% range for eligible items), and asked the board not to view the number without context.
The district also confirmed it would begin paying a lease for Tech City (iPark) to house CTE programs this school year; programs including cosmetology, automotive and electrical will be located there and students were scheduled to begin on September 3.
Motions to approve personnel items (D1–D2) and business items (E1–E3, F1–F10) were made, seconded and carried by voice vote. Board members voiced 'Aye' for the motions; no roll-call tallies were read into the public transcript.
Next steps: Staff will proceed with the approved personnel actions and the BOCES/Tech City arrangements; district retained responsibility to report reimbursements and budget impacts to the board as part of routine financial oversight.
