Carmel Central Board appoints Timothy Wade as combined HR and information systems director

The Carmel Central School District Board of Education voted Jan. 21 to appoint Timothy Wade, PhD, as the district—s Director of Human Resources and Information Systems, a combined position intended to replace two prior roles.

Wade—s appointment takes effect Jan. 22, 2025, with a three‑year probationary period through Jan. 21, 2028, and a prorated annual salary of $166,314 plus a prorated increment of $3,686. The superintendent said the move merges the former Director of Technology and Human Resources positions to create efficiencies and align information systems with HR processes.

The superintendent and supporting trustees said the district sought someone with experience across both technology and personnel administration. At the meeting, the superintendent said Wade had served previously as an assistant superintendent and brought experience in both domains. Wade addressed the board briefly, saying he—s "very excited to be here" and eager to work with staff.

Trustees who spoke in favor noted that the consolidation reduces headcount in some areas while preserving capacity at the building level. The motion passed on a recorded roll call with all five trustees voting yes.

The board made several other personnel approvals during the meeting, including substitute and coaching appointments, which were recorded individually by roll call. The board also separated several personnel items so that related family relationships and transparency concerns could be recorded on the public record.

The district plans to incorporate the consolidated role into the 2025–26 staffing budget; the administration said the next budget cycle will reflect the efficiencies discussed at the meeting.

What happens next: The appointment is effective Jan. 22; the board will oversee the probationary process and administrative implementation during Wade—s first months on the job.
