Carmel Central board appoints interim superintendent through Nov. 1

The Carmel Central School District Board of Education voted June 24 to appoint Doctor Aaron Meehan Farben as interim superintendent of schools effective June 24, 2025, through Nov. 1, 2025. The board approved a memorandum of agreement and authorized the board president to execute it.

Trustees moved and seconded the resolution as read aloud by a board officer; the motion was approved by voice vote. The board recorded no detailed public tally in the meeting transcript but confirmed the motion carried.

The appointment came early in the meeting as the board addressed routine business and recognitions. The board made the appointment in open session before recessing for an executive session later in the meeting to receive legal guidance on safety and personnel matters. The interim superintendent's term and the memorandum of agreement were read into the record at the meeting.
